Vanhulsteijn has started as an interior design studio 7 years ago but when Herman van Hulsteijn built 2 years ago a prototype of this bike for personal use people started to ask obsessively where it came from.Only then he decided to start to manufacture a line of bikes pushing his design firm to focus on a different industry.

The cyclone model is a handmade stainless steel frame fitted with high quality parts and it is sold directly via Vanhulsteijn.

It comes in 2 standard options

For the Mondial de l’Automobile 2010 in Paris, France, Smart, a subsidiary of the Daimler AG, decided to show two alternatives of electric mobility: an all electric scooter and an electric bicyle.

The design and developement process started in June 2010 (tough schedule!) and went on till mid September.

Here are some impressions from the show in Paris, some press images and some sketches and renderings from the design process.

PLUMA means feather in Portuguese .
PLUMA, is part of recent concepts regarding high performance track bicycles.
PLUMA TRACK BIKE is made of carbon/Kevlar body panels, this way the surfaces are lighter,and more impact resistant. The overall shape will help the air flow along the bike body, and increases the athletes security by reducing the number of moving parts and tubes were they can be seriously injured – unfortunately, serious falls are usual during a velodrome track cycling race.
PLUMA is a fixed-gear bike, and like all professional track bikes, don´t have brakes.

Best Buy has already started selling some electric scooters and motorcycles in its stores, and it’s now about to expand even further into the EV business. The retailer has just announced a partnership with ECOtality, which will be providing Best Buy with some of its Blink EV charging stations that will be installed at twelve stores in Tucson, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Diego and Seattle by March of next year. That’s being done as part of the government-funded EV Project that ECOtality is overseeing, and Best Buy says that it may install chargers at additional stores if the initial test phase proves to be successful.

To Giuseppe Fornasari, one of the best four-wheel drive car tuner, Geneva 2010 represents one of the major events of the year. He presented a “special” creature the Racing Buggy by Fornasari,a maxi SUV created to face any kind of off-road situation. The extensive experience in the Marathon Rally pushed him to choose V8 engines produced by General Motors because of their flexibility to power up.

With 610hp on tap, routed through an AWD system with 60% rear bias and built around a version of the RR600 chassis, the vehicle is sure to overpower most of the competition as well. It does have generous sizes too,it measures 17ft (5.20m) long, 7ft (2.15m) wide and 6ft (1.85m) tall. Weighing 1,600kg, it’s also surprisingly quick too accelerating to 62mph (100km/h) in just 3.8 seconds just like a super car!Gears(6) are manual or automatic Hydramatic and for the lovers of the hard off-road the transmission can be reduced by a device which guarantees performances and safety.

Gymkhana is a type of motorsport practiced in Canada, Japan, USA, UK, Scandinavia, and South Africa. Similar to autocross, gymkhana courses are often very complex and memorizing. Cones, tyres and different obstacles are part of the game in which the driver must perform 180/360 spins and other advanced skills.. What we propose below is the latest of the Ken Block’s Gymkhana videos and being filmed in Autodrome de Linas France features banks as steep as 51 degrees, which is more than double the standard incline of most NASCAR ovals.

Ken Block (USA) is one of the co-founders and recently appointed Chief Brand Officer of DC Shoes,an established American company of sports gear.Block has competed in many action sports events including skateboarding, snowboarding, motocross, and most notably rally racing.The Monster World Rally Team announced Ken as their driver for selected rounds of the World Rally Championship, in which he will be campaigning the Monster/Ford Racing fiesta as well as partecipating at the fifth X-games.

The Black Trail is an electric bicycle made from carbon fiber designed by PG Bikes with engineering by UBC. The bike is a limited production piece, with only 667 pieces being built. The bike has a top speed of 62 mph and a cruising speed of 31 mph with a range of 30 miles and 120 miles respectively.

Built using carbon fiber, high-alloyed aluminum, titanium and magnesium, the bike only weighs 44 pounds, but at approximately $80,000, it will be out of reach for most of us worker bees.

The Moog suggests how the future electric Volkswagen might sound like in the year 2030. Not only through the sounds it produces, but also what its shapes and textures suggest. As electric vehicles take over as the standard vehicle for the masses there is an opportunity to create sounds different from those we’ve heard from vehicles in the past. It’s a chance to stimulate our cityscapes with something more expressive.

The Moog is a vehicle inspired by electronic music, more specifically minimal techno. It is a blend between Volkswagen’s brand philosophies and the characteristics of electronic music. The vehicle also touches on the historic path that electronic music took and to achieve a successful result, a mixture of recognizable and alien elements need to stand out as strong themes for the vehicle.

The design process revolved around a strong research phase, absorbing electronic music, experimentation with electronic music-making and this degree topic is quite abstract, but tangible characteristics were refined and used as plausible details in the final concept.

The unique layer of noise underlying electronic music is represented by a
random placement of fractals that run underneath the vehicle. Like bass in a song, some elements are poking out into the exterior. These fractals would also capture the noise and vibration from the road and convert them into energy that can assist with the onboard electronics. The unique sound this electric vehicle makes sound leak out through the wheels. The concept is a mixture between the recognizable and the alien.
